Rao Bahadur's success at the box office will enhance Namrata Shirodkar's image like nothing else can. The former actress is presenting the multi-lingual title on GMB Entertainment. Her husband, Superstar Mahesh Babu, is playing a passive role in the production. SriChakraas Entertainments, A+S Movies, and Mahayana Motion Pictures, too, are producing it.
While nobody can be sure how much the Namrata-Mahesh duo invested in the film, it’s evident the project was greenlit by Namrata. "After listening to director Venkatesh Maha's 6-hour narration, she was stunned! She resolved to take the project to a whole different level. She was looking for something like this," producer Sharath Chandra shared the other day.
Adivi Sesh's Major, too, had her stamp of approval. The patriotic action drama was a commercial hit. Rao Bahadur has been projected as a story with themes and nuances that possess an international appeal. Satya Dev Kancharana feels the film offers an experience on par with Varanasi, Avatar, and Baahubali.
Given the hype, Rao Bahadur could launch GMB Entertainment onto the international stage. If all goes well, Namrata herself will become a brand within Telugu cinema.
