Director Atlee Kumar has described Raaka as a deeply personal endeavor that has been in development for nearly two decades. Sharing the movie's first look, the 'hit machine' revealed that the core concept for the prestigious venture produced by Sun Pictures has been with him for 18 years. Atlee added that the project is more than a standard cinematic release. He noted that the idea persisted through various stages of his career and personal growth.
"Raaka isn’t just a film… it’s a part of me I’ve carried for years. For 18 years, I held on to one idea, never letting it fade. It tested me, shaped me, and stayed with me through everything. And honestly… this is just the beginning," the maker of films like Jawan, Bigil, Raja Rani and Mersal wrote on X.
Raaka stars Deepika Padukone in a pivotal role. Sai Abhyankar is the music director. The pan-Indian movie is yet to lock its release date.
